Being a car owner and used to grabbing a set of keys, its nice to leave the driving to someone else and hop on a bus. Travelling by bus in Greece and perhaps a lot of Europe is quite affordable and frequent. We took the bus back to Athens, checked into our apartment and went off to explore the Acropolis Museum – a short 20 minute walk away.
By visiting the museum first, we were much better equipped to see the “real” thing the next day and understand what we were walking through…
The next day we went up to the Acropolis, fortunately with mobility issues of DH we were able to access an elevator on the side of the hill, I understand there was a controversy when it was being built…
Even though there were lots of tourists, it didn’t feel crowded, it was warm but not hot….
